WHAT IS THE DYSTHYMIC DISORDER IN MENTAL HEALTH?
This is an extremely common milder form of depression which lasts for two years or more . People with this problem tend to be chronically , unhappy for much of their lives , but their depression is not severe enough to qualify as a major depressive episode . Dysthymic disorder usually begins somewhere between childhood anf young adult life and is more common among women. It has sometimes been called depressive personality , or depressive neurosis because chronic unhappiness and pessimism seem to be a pair of the individual ‘s personality and view of life.
