Some people get rattled during interviews. Their minds go blank and they can’t think of anythinh to say, ” There’s a simple solution to this: Paraphrase the question before you attempt to answer it.Let’s say the interviewer asks you, ” What are strengths and weaknesses ?” Before you try to answer the question, repeat it like this , ” Let’s see , you would like me to tell you about wrong points and weak points ? Is that right?

”Yes”

‘ I’d be glad to do that.”

When you paraphrase a quetion you get a few moments to gather your thoughts , and it becomes easier to respond in a meaningful way. You can also use the ”punting” technique ,when people try to put you on the spot to gain an advantage in a negotiation.
