A)- The way to change the habit of rumination.
is to do something else more positive in response to the warning signs. This will interrupt the rumination and stop it developing .It is important to nip it in the bud as early as possible , because once it gets going, it can be difficult to stop. With enough practice , the alternative action will become a new habit that replaces the tendency to ruminate.
B)- This is very achievable and doable.
Most of us can recall times when we have developed new habits (our routine before going to work or to bed) or got into healthy habits(regular exercise, stopping smoking).It can be a lot of work and can take quiet a lot of practice and repetition, but if you keep at it , a new habit does form. This is why we recommend you practise regularly and continue to do so when you put new plans into place.
Most importantly , do not be discouraged if the new plan has not made much difference after a few weeks:we expect it to take many repetitions to change a well-established habit.
