To understand this process , we must first distinguish between fear and worry. Fear relates to a perception of some immediate danger present in our environment, presenting itself as an extreme threat to our safety .
If , for example , we heard sounds of an intruder in the middle of the night, it would usually trigger an immediate feeling of the emotion of fear. We could also experience such feeling if attacked by wild animal. Fear is a sensible emotional response is such situations to a clear environmental danger which has suddenly become manifest . It is also associated with major physical bodily response . Panic is a state of acute fear.
